The best way to try out magic mushrooms is a microdose. This is about 0.2-0.3 grams – 10% of what a bigger dose usually is. Choose Happy are carefully measured in microdoses so you can control your dosage easily.

Where should I try happy?
While other substances cloud your perception, mushrooms heighten it. For this reason, it’s always better to be in a comfortable environment (example: nature) and be around people you like.


How should I take them?
The best way to take them is 2-3 hours after a meal. Your stomach shouldn’t be full, and it shouldn’t be completely empty either. Stay hydrated – mushrooms make you thirsty!
Who should avoid it?
Those under age 18, pregnant, breastfeeding or have preexisting medical conditions should not consume psilocybin mushrooms. Please do not drive or operate any heavy equipment.



How long does it last?
A microdose should at most last 2-3 hours, but the peak effect itself only lasts 30 min. If you don’t like it, have a bit of bread and you can get back to normal again.

- Be open to all experiences, thoughts, memories, visions, and sensations that may come. If they are challenging, accept and don’t fight them, it’s part of the learning experience!


Your environment is the second most important factor – here are five tips:
- Do mushrooms where you feel comfortable
- If you do mushrooms with others, make sure they are people you know and trust
- Have easy access to water, food and a bathroom
- Do mushrooms when its light outside
- Try to go outside for at least a portion of your trip – nature looks particularly beautiful
Having a trip sitter
One basic safety tip if you are taking a large dose is having a “trip sitter” can help you feel safe and secure enough to surrender to the mushrooms
How long it lasts
A medium or large dose trip lasts between 3 and 8 hours, averaging for most as a 6 hour trip. Mushrooms take an average of about 30 to 45 minutes to start taking effect but can take up to 90 mins – so don’t get antsy or take more if you don’t feel them coming on. Decide on your dose ahead of time and then wait to make sure you want more.


Some methods if you’re feeling uncomfortable while on shrooms:
- Taking deep breaths (follow five of your breaths, from the moment they enter your nose, all the way until they leave your nose)
- Go for a walk outside
- Listen to calm music
- Remember that even if you are feeling uncomfortable, don’t fight it. Just accept it fully and be present with the feeling – don’t try to wish it away, follow your breathing and you will eventually move past this phase.

Psilocybin mushrooms—colloquially known as shrooms—are a type of naturally growing mushroom which contain the compound psilocybin. They grow naturally all over the world in moist environments and have been in use for thousands of years by cultures all over the world.

Despite what you were taught in high school, psilocybin mushrooms are safe for healthy people. For the past few years mushrooms have ranked as the Global Drug Survey’s safest illicit substance—safer even than cannabis because they put the least amount of people in the hospital.
Psilocybin mushrooms are not considered addictive because they don’t tend to give users an escape like alcohol or opioids. Tolerance builds up very quickly – taking mushrooms two days in a row often results in a less intense experience the second day, for example.
